Victime aînée maltraitée

Qu'est-ce que la maltraitance d'un(e) aîné(e)?

Selon un rapport rédigé par le CCRVC en 2006, « la maltraitance d'un(e) aîné(e) consiste en toute forme de mauvais traitement, d'acte ou d'omission par un particulier ou une institution qui fait du tort ou menace de faire du tort à une personne âgée ou bien qui compromet la santé et/ou le bien-être d'une personne âgée. » Le rapport énumère cinq formes communes de maltraitance d'un(e) aîné(e) :

• L'agression sexuelle
• La violence physique
• La violence psychologique
• La négligence
• L'exploitation financière
